It is 1 of the Top 10 China Teas. TPHK looks like a sensational works of art. The two huge and flat tea leaves criss-cross on the tip, the bud in the mid is covered with obscure white down. The appearance is alike the tip of a spear.
A typical feature of Tai Ping Hou Kui is the grid pattern showing on each leaf which comes from the pressing during production. The fine leaves are folded and flatten to give the special sword shape. And it is reddish in the veins.
The taste is pleasantly complex, thanks to its big&long leaves. Pure and fresh, and sweet aftertaste with a little bit grassy hint.
When brewed, the tea leaves, suspending, free themselves in the bright clear green water, like many monkeys curiously stretching their necks and tails and playing with you.
